When Choice Cuts Records was incorporated during the spring of 2007, a mountain had been moved.  For seven long years it seemed like rocks and hard places were always in the way of accomplishing what should have been a simple task.  However, we did come into the light and without the need to sell drugs or enter into acts of crime.  True grit, determination and desire of the dream to write, produce and record incredibly beautiful music on our own terms just would not let us give up. 

Sacrifice, setbacks and always having to wait was nothing less than heart wrenching and painful from one time or another.  There was no help, even from those whom you expect it from, and begging was never an option.  We needed everything.  So, we hustled.  Atlantic City Casinos, spiritual readings and spiritual works were all we had available to raise money, and so we hit ‘em hard and tucked the earnings away.  We brought only what we needed to work on music with when we could work.  So, needing a haircut and clothes had us looking really funny at times.

Yet by the grace of God came inspiration for encouragement from artists like John Legend, Swiss Chris, LL Cool J, Lil Fate of DTP, Missy Elliott, George Clinton and my mother, soloist, Helen M. Turnage.  Eventually, help of a more practical kind began to come from folks like Bill Summers of the Head Hunters, Alan (AK) Kay from Pro Point Studio, Kendra Foster and Diva Belitha Woods of Parlaiment Funkadelic.  We are now a registered company and the music development and the artist participation is helping Choice Cuts Records come into view.  Now, if we could be so lucky as to find our way into your ear and down into your hearts, I know we would be able to create a true contribution of musical beauty that could inspire and enhance and lift the very souls of every day people.
